We are so excited to announce the winner of our 'Design Our Logo' competition. We had some beautiful entries and were so impressed with the talent out there! But, after a careful deliberation we have chosen the amazing hand drawn logo by the talented Illustrator Jacinta Browning.
We asked Jacinta to tell us a little about her, what inspires her and where her natural creativity may come from...
"I’m Jacinta Browning, a self-taught artist and illustrator based in Brisbane, Australia. Being born in Tropical Far North Queensland and having lived there for the first nineteen years of my life, I’ve grown up with a soft spot in my heart for sand and salty water, endless summer, laid-back lifestyles and the bohemian style and culture.
In my spare time, my favourite thing to do is create art. I’ve been constantly practicing, refining and improving my sketching skills over the past few years with a strong focus on photorealistic coloured pencil portraiture. I’m endlessly inspired by a string of artists (Elle Wills and Agnes Cecile to name a few), but find most of my inspiration in art to come from fashion photography. I love looking at the work of incredibly talented photographers, searching for the perfect image with strong highlights and shadows to transfer to a drawing. When drawing, I pay attention to the small details, knowing that it’s the details that really bring a piece to life and add dimension.
A career in the arts is my dream. Graphic design has recently been a strong interest of mine - I’ve been coming out of my comfort zone, testing my hand at logo designs and typography, trying to teach myself the ropes. When the White Bohemian logo design competition showed up on my Instagram stream, I knew I had to give it a try. I thought about everything I loved about the beach and the bohemian lifestyle (from living in Townsville and frequently visiting beautiful Surfers Paradise, our favourite place to visit for a family holiday), and drew up all of my ideas in a sketchbook. From the colours of the sun setting over the water, palm trees blowing in the breeze, to sand, intricate mandalas and tropical flowers such as hibiscuses and frangipanis - I threw it all into the design for White Bohemian".
We want to thank our winner Jacinta, and everyone who entered for the beautiful work that we had the pleasure in reviewing.
